Haylee!

So we are out at dinner and Haylee was telling me that she wanted me to take pictures.  So after dinner I started to look for a good location to take some pictures with the strobe and umbrella. She was getting tired so Taylor and I just pulled over into some field and started to set up. About 20 pictures into the mini shoot, Haylee started rubbing her eyes and stating that she was tired. So we packed up and headed home thinking I didn't get any usable pictures. Load them on to the Mac and I got this one.

I was so excited that I was able to capture this! This is why I never delete anything off the camera until I get home. :) Thanks for stopping in.

Retirement Party

The photos were taken at Dr. Peters retirement party out at The Fort Worth Club in downtown Fort Worth. This place is GORGEOUS! I took a couple of photos with my D90 + 50mm 1.8. I also had Jennifer's 7D + 24-70mm 2.8 (amazing lens and camera) around my neck as well. She got a new lens so I was kinda defaulted to using her's most of the time, LOL. But, these are some of the decent ones I captured with mine.

Jennifer
 Jonell and John
 Meghan and Crystal being silly.
 Wonderful Dr. Birth
And, Susan.

We will definatly miss Dr. Peters and all his great knowlege that he brought to the mix, but it is time for him to relax with his little cocktail and umbrella on some beach somewhere. Have a Happy Retirement Dr. Peters.
Thanks for stopping in.

Self Portrait

So my wife, Taylor is still warming up to the idea of getting her photo taken. Soon she will be comfortable. So in the meantime while Haylee was asleep, I decided to play with a little self portrait.

First one;

Got some advice so I tried to add some light to the right side of my face with a make shift reflector, Paper taped to cardboard. I think this turned out better than the first.

Second one:

Defiantly need to get a remote shutter release. Well this is my try with lighting. More to come. Thanks for stopping in.

Stuck F-150

So yesterday at work I get a call from my buddy who is borrowing my 94 Bronco 4x4 saying that his friend is stuck on a...cliff.  I thought surely It can not be a "cliff", so I figured he could pull him out if he wanted to. I figured this could be a good...or bad photo moment. I get there and sure enough there is a Ford F-150 4x4 stuck on a cliff. If the nerf bars were not there the truck would have gone over.

So we pull the Bronco behind it and start pulling.

No grip, reposition and try again.

Still no grip. Using street tires to pull someone out a predicament is not a good idea. Luckily the guys brother was able to come and help with his dodge. Finally got the truck free. Victory on the hill.

Unfortunatly the dodge pulled the ford out...but that's okay. Maybe next time.

Thanks for stopping in.

Another day.

So this picture was taken last week at a dinner gathering with some friends that live behind us. Haylee and their little girl, Karley love to play together. They were playing dress up and running all around the house. They are just too cute. I was able to get this shot of them two hugging, talk about best friends.

On a side note, I tried to make home made onion soup...no so good. Maybe next time. Well this is my post for the day. Thanks for stopping in.

First post.

So I'm just now getting serious about photography and thought why not create a blog to go along with it. Well here it is. Here is a shot of my 2 year old daughter, Haylee. We were at Trinity Park in Fort Wort doing some photos of a buddy's car. She wanted to play in the leaves, and I want pictures of her. This is something we achieved.

In my opinion, this is an amazing shot. I of course am emotionally attached to the photo so sometime technically they are not perfect. But, this just brightens my day. Well that is all for now.
